High Performance Cricket will inspire the enjoyment and enhance the development of all cricketers, coaches, clubs, schools and corporate businesses with our world-class advice, support and coaching.

We do this through a number of different products, services and activities.

Cricket coaching is available to all players of all ages throughout SEQ. Our coaching staff will visit any club or school requiring specialist coaching and support. We currently a number of contracts to schools across Queensland and have travelled all over Australia to coach at special events.

PROFILE - Shane Jurgensen


Shane has recently been the Bowling Coach for the New Zealand Cricket Team during 2009 and 2010. Until May 2011 he was a High Performance Coach also with New Zealand Cricket's high performance program.

Shane has gained enormous amounts of experience on his travels from playing for three states of Australia and playing and coaching overseas in the UK. At 35 years of age Shane has already been coaching cricket for nearly 15 years at a number of different levels since his first trip to the UK with Horsham Cricket Club at the age of 21.

Shane and High Performance Cricket have conducted a number of different community programs also. These include the "Smarter Choices" program from 2003 to 2007 that over four years that helped over 3000 year 7 students. "Queenslanders in the Community" program was a similar program that targeted the development of high school students (2006 to 2008) and Shane also headed the Queensland Bulls players own "Charity Committee" from 2005 to 2007.

Shane represented three states at First-class cricket being Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia and holds two special achievements:

  • He is the first cricketer in history to take 10 wickets or more in a Sheffield Shield Final (March 2002)
  • He was also the first to take a First-class hat-trick at Bellerive Oval (March 2002).

As a young man he represented Australian Under 19 and Under 17 teams and attended Cricket Australia Centre of Excellence (Formerly Cricket Academy) in 1994.

Below are some highlights of his playing achievements:

  • Represented three states in Australia at First-class cricket level Western Australia (1997-1998), Tasmania (2000/01 to 2003/04), Queensland (2004/05 to 2006/07)
  • Played 23 first-class matches over eight years as a contracted professional cricketer
  • Current record holder for most wickets (11) in a Sheffield Shield Final (March 2002)
  • First to take 10 wickets or more in a Sheffield Shield Final (March 2002)
  • First in history to take a hat-trick at Bellerive Oval for Tasmania (March 2002)
  • Tasmanian Player of the Year (2001-2002 season)
  • Attended the Cricket Australia Cricket Academy in 1994
  • Represented Australian Under 17 and Under 19 (Twice) Teams
  • Represent Sussex Board XI and Sussex 2nd Team in the UK (1997)
  • Over 700 first grade wickets in 15 seasons (Including two premierships)
  • TCA Grade Player of the year 1999/2000 (Included association batting average award)
  • Numerous personal club cricket awards over 15 seasons of club cricket
  • Three winters in the UK as a player/head coach of Horsham Cricket Club, Sussex (1997, 1999 and 2000).
